The
Alula also known as the Olulu is and endemic Hawaiian plant. They
are nearly extinct in the wild.
Naturally occurring on cliff sides it is believed that they were
pollinated by a now extinct moth.
This makes it very difficult for them to reproduce in the wild..
They do well in botanical gardens where they
can be hand pollinated. |
